A plan your household writes down
The Household Readiness Workbook turns “we should really get organized” into a plan your household has actually written down. It isn’t a survival manual. It’s a fill-in workbook for recording your own people, contacts, house, supplies, records and plans, all in one place.
How it works
- Sitting 1, at the kitchen table (30 to 45 minutes): who lives here, contacts, meeting places, and your fridge plan.
- Sitting 2, walk the house (60 to 90 minutes): shutoffs, alarms, the eight household basics, a supplies record and a short shopping list.
- Records (30 to 45 minutes, any time before Sitting 3): health and care, documents and money.
- Sitting 3, with the household (about 90 minutes): your plans for a power outage, severe weather, leaving home quickly, several days without services, and your own most likely disruption, with every task assigned.
- Every year (about 30 minutes): a short review that keeps the book current.
The eight household basics
Water · Food · Light and power · Warmth and cooling · Information and communication · Health and first aid · Documents and cash · People, pets and the plan
Two formats
Digital Edition, from House & Provision. The complete 71-page workbook as a PDF, plus the 42-page Living Pages companion: fresh copies of the pages most likely to change, to print as your household’s details change. Both are US Letter size, designed for easy home printing and handwritten planning.
Paperback, on Amazon. The same workbook, printed and bound at 8.5 × 11 inches. Paperback owners can print fresh copies of the Living Pages free.
What it never asks for
No passwords, PINs, Social Security numbers or account numbers. Where something sensitive matters, the workbook records where it’s kept, not the number itself.
Limits
This workbook records your household’s own information and plans. It isn’t medical, legal, electrical or emergency advice. Free preparedness guidance lives in the Prepare section.
